Join us for learning and discussion about a child’s grief process, and the unique grief children in foster care experience during the loss of their birth parents. As caregivers, we will learn effective ways in which you can best help the children in your care to both grieve and adjust to their varied losses.
About the Presenter: Debbie Miller is a LPC who specializes in working with women and children experiencing the following:
perinatal mood & anxiety disorders
stress and anxiety arising from mother or child transitions
grief & loss throughout the lifespan
Debbie’s education and training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, with major emphasis in Early Childhood Education, Concordia Teacher’s College.
Master of Science Degree in Family Life, Concordia University-Nebraska.
Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education, with emphasis in Couple and Family Counseling from University of Colorado-Denver.
EMDR Trained at EMDR Center of the Rockies.
Maternal Mental Health Training Certificate from Postpartum Support International
Teacher of infants through 1st graders in various schools throughout the Denver metro area.
Children’s ministry leader, working with young children and their parents.
Volunteer leader of divorce support groups for adults and children at various churches.
