Foster Parent Support Groups
Being a foster parent is challenging. No one understands or can support a foster parent better than a fellow foster parent. We offer support groups during which no one from the county or placement agency is present. Because of this, foster parents are not only more open about their struggles, but they are also more comfortable reaching out and supporting one another during this time. Feedback from past participants shows that private support groups give foster parents a bigger feeling of support and understanding than those provided by or attended by placement officials. The private location provides a safe, judgement-free environment for foster parents to vent, ask advice, laugh and cry.
